Este domingo se entregó el Oscar 2019, ceremonia histórica en muchos aspectos por la nominación de «Roma», la película más aclamada del cineasta mexicano Alfonso Cuarón.
La noche del Oscar 2019 trajo sorpresas desde sus primeros minutos, con victorias para favoritas del público como «Black Panther» y «Bohemian Rhapsody»; así como «Roma», aclamada por la crítica internacional. No obstante, el mayor premio fue para «Green Book».
Los Oscar 2019 premiaron 24 categorías en una gala que se celebró desde el Dolby Theatre de Los Ángeles.

PREVIA A LA CEREMONIA:
Por primera vez en 30 años, la ceremonia no contará con un conductor. La Academia ya anunció algunas de las figuras que presentarán las estatuillas: Jennifer Lopez, Daniel Craig, Tina Fey, Chris Evans, Tessa Thompson, Brie Larson y Maya Rudolph, entre otros.
Al no haber anfitrión, los shows musicales tendrán un importante protagonismo en la gala. En el Dolby Theatre se presentarán: Lady Gaga y Bradley Cooper (A star is born); Kendrick Lamar y SZA (Black Panther); Jennifer Hudson (RGB); y Gillian Welch y David Rawlings(The Ballad of Buster Scruggs).
El venezolano Gustavo Dudamel estará al frente de La Filarmónica de Los Ángeles para ponerle música al segmento «In memoriam», en honor a los artistas fallecidos. A último momento, se sumaron dos performances más en vivo: Bette Midler (Mary Poppins Returns) y el grupo mítico Queen tocará con Adam Lamber (Bohemian Rhapsody).
Serán 24 rubros, que tienen como principales protagonistas a Roma y The Favourite, con diez nominaciones cada uno. Ambas se medirán por la estatuilla a la mejor película, rubro por el que también compiten A star is born, Green Book, Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody y Vice.
Netflix se apunta su primera nominación a mejor película con Roma, al igual que Marvel Studios con Black Panther, la primera película de superhéroes que compite por el premio máximo.

De manera progresiva, los invitados a la gala llegaron al Dolby Theater y se dejaron ver en la alfombra roja; como es el caso del director Mamoru Hosoda, de Billy Porter, Adam Smith, Alicia Malone, Sibkley Scoles, Brad Goreski y muchos más.
Tampoco podían faltar los presentadores del Oscar, como es el caso de Emilia Clarke, quien interpreta a Daenerys Targaryen en la serie de HBO «Game of Thrones».
Tampoco podía faltar la nominada a Mejor actriz por «Roma», Yalitza Aparicio, quien llegó a la alfombra roja un par de horas antes del inicio de la ceremonia.
SOBRE LA CEREMONIA:
Como es sabido, la gala del Oscar 2019 no tendrá presentador por primera vez en 30 años, luego que el comediante Kevin Hart renunciara al rol por rehusarse a disculparse por unos tuits homofóbicos que publicó años atrás.
La última ceremonia sin animador, en 1989, se recuerda por el desastroso dueto musical entre Rob Lowe y… Blancanieves.
El chef español José Andrés, la tenista Serena Williams, la cantante Barbra Streisand y el actor mexicano Diego Luna serán, ante la ausencia de un anfitrión, algunos de los encargados de participar como presentadores del premio.
